Full How to Get Started – Safe, Simple & Email-First (Recommended)

1. Send Digital Versions First (Easiest, Fastest & Safest – No Posting Needed!) Scan or photograph your old photos at home in high quality for the best results.

Quick home scanning tips: Use a flatbed scanner (many all-in-one printers work great) at 300 dpi or higher.

Or use the free app Google PhotoScan (iOS/Android) – it removes glare automatically.

Good lighting, no shadows/glare; clean dust gently with a microfiber cloth.

Save as high-res JPEG (or TIFF if possible) – avoid heavy compression.

Name files clearly (e.g., "Mum_1970s_wedding.jpg") and add notes in your email on what to fix (scratches, colour fade, etc.).

For smaller files (under ~20–25MB total per email): Attach them directly.

For larger files or batches: Use a free service like WeTransfer.com (no account needed – upload and send the link to us) or share via Dropbox/Google Drive/OneDrive (send a share link with view/download access).

Post the physical photos using a tracked, recorded service for peace of mind. We recommend: Royal Mail Tracked 24® or Tracked 48® with Signature (full tracking, photo proof on delivery, optional signature – affordable and reliable for most batches).

Or Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed (next-day by 1pm, signature + photo proof, higher compensation up to £750 standard) for especially valuable/heirloom items.

Pack carefully to protect them: Use a sturdy envelope/box

Stiff cardboard protectors on both sides

Acid-free tissue or plain paper between photos
